Precious Find is a photo-based identification app for rocks, minerals, fossils, gemstones, and natural finds. This policy explains what information the app uses and why.
What we collect
- Email address if you choose to sign in with a magic link.
- Scan images and saved-find information you choose to upload or keep in your collection.
- Optional location data if you grant access and choose to attach field context to a saved find.
- Apple subscription and restore status needed to unlock premium access.
How we use data
- To analyze a scan and return a likely identification from the photo.
- To save your collection, favorites, and GeoBot history when you use account sync.
- To restore premium access after an Apple purchase or device reinstall.
- To attach optional field context when you save a find with location enabled.
AI and service providers
Precious Find uses hosted backend services to process authentication, saved collection data, subscription sync, and AI-assisted identification or GeoBot responses. When you scan or chat, the image, saved-scan context, or text needed to fulfill that request may be processed through those services.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use your data for third-party advertising.
- We do not claim photo scans can replace in-person or lab-grade verification.
Your choices
- You can use the iPhone app free scan flow without signing in.
- You can deny location access and still use the app.
- You can sign out if you no longer want account-backed syncing on the device.
